The short version of the story behind the weekend garage is simpily; The customer was on a time crunch and needed to get his garage up quickly. The plan had been approved by the building department, the package had been ordered, and the foundation had been poured.
The Weekend Garage
Day One
At 9:00 am on Friday morning, the package was delivered and unloaded. By noon the plates were installed and readyto accept walls. By the end of the first day, the trusses were ready to put in.
Day Two
Day two was met with poor weather that slowed progress slightly. However, the garage still prevailed with the second day ending with the trusses installed, the roof deck sheathed, holdowns installed, and everything nailed off ready for inspection.
Day Three*
* Day three was in the following week because an inspection of the nailing, holdowns and sheathing had to be performed.
With the help of friends to build the weekend garage; by the end of the third day, the roof, siding, trim, door jambs, and electrical were installed.
The garage door was installed the following monday, as was the building painted. The garage was now completely finished, ready for use.
